Implants

Nothing beats the teeth God gave you, but unfortunately not all teeth outlast their owners! Once you’ve lost a tooth, the best way to replace it is using a dental implant. This is basically a titanium root with a crown on the top. The result is the closest thing we have to inserting a natural tooth into the gap. It’s comfortable, it looks natural, and it’s the longest lasting option we have.

We use only the highest grade titanium and work with the top 5 implant systems in the world. Dr Anton has completed post-graduate training in implantology at the University of Pretoria, and is continually updating his skills and knowledge through lectures, study clubs, congresses and courses.

What is an implant?
An implant is a method of replacing missing teeth by placing a titanium screw directly into the jaw bone and attaching a crown or new tooth to the top of the screw.

Implants are the closest thing we can get to putting your own tooth back into your mouth as good as new.

There are usually two or three phases to implant therapy:

Firstly during the surgical phase, the titanium screw is placed into the correct position. This is then allowed to heal, and the bone grows and attaches directly onto the implant’s surface.

After the healing period, during the restorative phase, a tooth is made for the gap and fixed to the implant.

Implant therapy has a high success rate and works very well to replace single or multiple missing teeth.
